David Lentz
MD, MBA
Dr. David Lentz attended Georgia Southern University and earned a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He completed medical training at the Medical College of Georgia and graduated in 1974.
He served in the U.S. Navy and completed a Family Practice residency in Jacksonville, Florida, becoming board-certified after residency.
After leaving the Navy in 1980, he returned to Georgia and spent more than 20 years of his career serving individuals struggling with substance use disorder.
Kristen Smallwood
RN, CPS-AD, CCIT
Executive Driector
Kristen Smallwood, RN, CPS-AD, CCIT is a dedicated and compassionate healthcare professional with extensive experience in the field of addiction treatment and recovery. With a strong background in nursing and behavioral health, Kristen has worked across a wide range of care settings. Driven by a passion for helping individuals overcome substance use challenges, Kristen integrates clinical expertise with empathy and evidence-based practices to support clients on their journey to recovery. Her commitment to improving the quality of care and promoting lasting change continues to guide her work within the behavioral health community.
Chad Dean
Program Director
Ollie “Chad” Dean III is a dedicated leader and Program Director with a deep commitment to service, personal growth, and community impact. A veteran and person in long-term recovery, Chad brings a unique blend of lived experience and professional expertise to his role. He is passionate about empowering others and remains actively involved in the recovery community, where he continues to support individuals on their paths to healing and transformation.
Peyton Jackson

Lead Case Manager
Peyton Jackson is a dedicated Lead Nurse with a strong commitment to compassionate care, professional growth, and community well-being. With over two years of experience in case management, she specializes in discharge and treatment planning, supporting patients through every stage of their recovery. A passionate advocate for mental health, Peyton is pursuing a graduate degree in Counseling and finds joy in helping others heal and grow. Outside of work, she enjoys concerts and music festivals, where she finds inspiration and relaxation through music.
Danette Barber

Lead Nurse
Danette Barber is a compassionate Lead Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a strong background in psychiatric and addiction care. Since graduating from nursing school in 2019, she has dedicated her career to supporting individuals on their journeys toward recovery and wellness. Having lived in nine different states, Danette brings a broad perspective and adaptability to her work, enriching her approach to patient care.
Heather Hester
CPS-MH, CPS-FPM
Certified Peer Specialist
Heather Hester is a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS-MH, CPS-FPM) who brings a unique perspective to her work through her lived experience in recovery. Her personal journey deeply informs her compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting others on their paths to healing. In her free time, Heather enjoys long walks, immersing herself in music, and spending quality time with her community.
Makayla Dowdy

MaKayla Dowdy is a compassionate Case Manager with a strong foundation in psychology and counseling. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a focus on Counseling and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Dedicated to helping others grow and heal, MaKayla approaches her work with empathy and care. Outside of work, she enjoys listening to music and spending time outdoors.
Adrienne Cruz

Adrienne Cruz is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with extensive experience in addiction and substance use disorder treatment. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing compassionate care and support to individuals struggling with alcohol and drug dependency. Passionate about helping others on their journey to sobriety, Adrienne is dedicated to fostering healing and recovery. In her free time, she enjoys watching crime documentaries and exploring the psychological aspects behind criminal behavior.
Cliff Taylor
Alumni Coordinator
Cliff Taylor serves in Business Development and Alumni Relations for Metro Atlanta Outpatient Detox. With over a decade of sobriety, Cliff is deeply passionate about helping others experience the same freedom and fulfillment he has found through recovery.
His commitment to giving back to the recovery community is both personal and purposeful. Through his work with alumni and community outreach, Cliff strives to ensure that every individual he encounters has the opportunity to build a meaningful and lasting life in recovery.
Supporting others in their journey has not only allowed Cliff to give back, it has also played a powerful role in rebuilding his own life.
He believes wholeheartedly that recovery is possible, transformation is real, and the decision to seek help today can change the course of a lifetime.
Andrew Baggett
Business Development
Andrew Baggett serves as a Business Development Representative for Metro Atlanta Outpatient Detox. As a dedicated behavioral health professional with a personal background in addiction recovery, Andrew brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to his work.
He is passionate about connecting individuals and families with high-quality substance use treatment services. With a client-focused approach, Andrew works closely with providers and community partners to ensure individuals receive compassionate, effective care when they need it most.
Drawing from both his professional experience and his personal recovery journey, Andrew is committed to supporting long-term recovery and witnessing lives transformed through evidence-based treatment and genuine human connection.
Nick Davenport
Admissions Specialist
Nick Davenport is an Admissions Specialist with nearly a decade of experience in the behavioral health field. His professional background spans the full continuum of care, including roles as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), case manager, recovery coach, aftercare coordinator, business development representative, and admissions specialist.
This diverse experience allows Nick to understand both the clinical and operational sides of treatment, helping individuals and families navigate the admissions process with clarity and confidence. He is known for his ability to remove barriers, streamline access to care, and provide compassionate support during critical decision-making moments.
Having personally gone through treatment and now living in recovery himself, Nick brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his work. His mission is to meet people where they are, advocate for their needs, and help them take the first step toward lasting recovery.

Pehr serves as an Admissions Specialist for Metro Atlanta Outpatient Detox. With over three years in recovery himself, Pehr brings both professional dedication and lived experience to his role.
His personal journey through recovery fuels his passion for helping others find hope and a better way of living. Pehr understands how difficult it can be to ask for help, which is why he approaches every conversation with honesty, compassion, and respect.
When working with individuals and families, his goal is simple: to guide each person toward a recovery path that truly fits their needs. Pehr believes that with willingness and the right support, life can become far better than it may seem at the moment.
He is honored to walk alongside others as they begin their journey toward lasting recovery.
Hector Montana
Director of Admissions
As the Director of Admissions for Metro Atlanta Outpatient Detox, Hector Montana works closely with individuals seeking help and the families who support them. He understands how overwhelming it can feel to make that first call, because he has been there himself.
Hector’s personal recovery journey allows him to approach every conversation with empathy, honesty, and hope. He believes that reaching out for help is one of the most courageous steps a person can take.
He shares a core belief with the organization’s founders: if someone reaches out for help, they deserve support, no matter what. In his role, Hector focuses on removing barriers, providing clear guidance, and ensuring that every individual has a safe and supported path toward recovery.
Tanner Adams
Director of Business Development
As the Director of Business Development for Metro Atlanta Outpatient Detox, Tanner Adams has been part of the journey since day one, helping build both programs from the ground up with a clear mission: expanding access to safe, effective outpatient detox services throughout the Atlanta community.
Being involved from the very beginning has given Tanner a deep connection to the organization’s growth, its mission, and the lives impacted every day.
Tanner brings a strong background in insurance and addiction recovery, allowing him to bridge the clinical and financial sides of treatment. His experience navigating insurance systems, building provider relationships, and advocating for patients helps ensure individuals and families can access care with clarity and confidence.
A proud graduate of Jacksonville State University, Tanner carries the values of family, integrity, and service into both his personal life and professional leadership. Outside of work, he enjoys life at home with a house full of girls who keep him grounded and inspired, along with a memorable (and very opinionated) naked cat who proudly runs the show.
